When it comes to nourishing yourself, there’s no single “right” answer. Yes, you read that correctly! But I can assure you that this engrained societal belief that thinness = goodness definitely isn’t helping. Nutrition counseling offers a space to experiment with new ways of eating that support your physical health and sustain your emotional wellbeing.
A little bit of intention setting. Celebrating your wins. Holding space for the hard. And a heck of a lot of exhaling when you discover new eating patterns that work for you.
Nutrition counseling is where cozy meets clinical. Many of the things we talk about are centered around your health and recovery - we’ll look at physical symptoms, lab values, and overall wellbeing. But recovery is never just physical… there’s an added layer of emotion that comes with this work. That’s why I approach our sessions through a trauma-informed lens with hopes of creating a space that feels safe, steady, and respectful of you.
From the outside, your friends view you as disciplined, but they don’t have a clue about the mental gymnastics happening in your head around your next meal.
Nutrition counseling for eating disorders isn’t about rigid rules or perfect eating… I’m not that kind of dietitian. It’s a collaborative space where we can loosen your grip on all-or-nothing thinking about food (aka the thing that makes it so all-consuming!) and create a path where food can still be nourishing without being controlling.
Wallick Nutrition Counseling works with all eating disorders - Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, & ARFID. But I also help you navigate the things that may come along with it, including body image, GI concerns, and substance abuse.
Your days are packed and busy, and mealtimes rarely make the schedule.
By the time dinner arrives, food feels chaotic… sometimes forgotten, sometimes overdone, sometimes used as your only form of self-soothing. Nutrition counseling for disordered eating helps you slow down, tune in to your body’s cues, and create a rhythm that supports your life instead of adding more stress. Over time, the goal is to rebuild trust around food and your body and discover that nourishment can feel steady, not overwhelming.
Living with MCAS can make eating feel unpredictable.
Nutrition counseling for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) offers calm, evidence-informed guidance to reduce symptom flares, lower the fear of eating, and rebuild confidence with food. Together, we’ll identify your triggers (foods, additives, timing, stress, environment), simplify meals without over-restricting, and create a flexible plan that supports nourishment, energy, and quality of life. Our goal is to help you move away from rigid restriction and toward a way of eating your body can appreciate, with practical tools you can use on your busiest days.
Food is never just about food. It’s about the stories, fears, rules, and lived experiences and I want to hear about all of it. I’m here to celebrate your wins, but also hang with your lows. There’s no pressure to show up a certain way in our sessions. I’m here for the real deal of you.
Society gives eating a superiority complex. It focuses so much on the physical impact, while oftentimes excluding the emotional ties. That’s not the case here - we’re gonna explore both.
physical hunger & fullness
I offer in-person sessions for clients who live in Memphis, TN and virtual sessions for anyone else located in Tennessee! Choose the session format that feels best for you. If you are in another state and want to work together, reach out, and we can discuss additional options. There are current laws regarding the Dietitian Compact Licensure that are actively in progress.
Initial sessions are 90 minutes and cost $220. Follow-up sessions are 55 minutes and cost $160. I have a limited number of sliding scale spots, so if you feel like we’d be a good fit and need financial support, please email me at angie@wallicknutritioncounseling.com.
I don’t currently take any insurances, but I’m happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance. This may be able to be applied to your out-of-network deductible.
At this time, I only work with adults (18+). If you are looking for a dietitian to work with an adolescent or teen, please reach out to me at angie@wallicknutritioncounseling.com and I’d be happy to provide referrals.
While I specialize in eating disorders, a diagnosis is not required to work together. Many of my clients don’t have a formal diagnosis but still struggle with food feeling chaotic, stressful, or all-consuming. If your relationship with food is impacting your relationship with your life, you belong here.
If you are brand new to the recovery space or even are unsure what your status with food is, I can help bring in the team members to support you in all the areas that are needed! If you already have an established team, I would want to get a release of information (ROI) so I can coordinate care.
